I’ve been working on this lately!

I realized a while back that when I do things that give me quick dopamine hits—like binge-watching shows, eating junk food, scrolling social media, shopping, or drinking alcohol—I end up feeling tired and unmotivated after.

It turns out, after a dopamine spike, you crash, and your levels dip quite below your baseline.

A few months ago, I decided to cut out those things for a week. Instead, I focused on reading, walking in the nature, spending time with family, working out without my phone or music, and using my phone only for calls/messages.

It only took a few days to notice the difference. The “boring” stuff started to feel enjoyable.

I was working on a new project at the time that required learning a ton of new things, and I actually started enjoying the process. Even my workouts, which felt boring at first, became way more satisfying as I taught myself to get the reward from the effort itself.

We didn’t evolve to stare at screens for hours, constantly getting bombarded with news and videos. It’s no wonder that after all that stimulation, so many things feel “boring” in comparison.

Our brains just aren't built for that! 🧠

Now, go ahead and search for "how bananas looked before"—you’ll be surprised!

It makes me wonder how many bananas Paleolithic humans had to eat to get the same amount of sugar we get from just one modern banana? 🤔

So true!

Yet another reason to put down the phone and pick up a book 📚

You’ve got to check out those replies, there's some gold in there.

For me, honestly, I can’t believe people don’t use a bidet.

Imagine getting dirt on your hand and just wiping it with paper—would you call that clean? Exactly! 🙂
